With the start of a new semester, I’m excited to introduce both our new choir website and the very first edition of the Singing Saxon Newsletter! This will be your inside look at all the exciting things happening in our choir program. My hope is to keep you connected to our journey and give you a glimpse of the incredible hard work our students are putting in—well before concert day arrives.
We kicked off the semester with a fun team-building day! Here are a few photos capturing the energy and collaboration!
This month, 19 of our talented singers participated in D211 Honor Choir! They combined with singers from all 5 of our district's schools for a couple days of intensive rehearsals, culminating in an awesome performance. Our Tenor-Bass Choir was also featured at the concert and they did a phenomenal job representing our SHS choir. Congratulations to everyone involved—you made us so proud!
Since then, we’ve been diving into preparations for some exciting upcoming performances. Our main focus has been the music for our March Pops Concert, and our students are already making fantastic progress.
Here’s a sneak peek of Treble Choir performing Billie Eilish’s “When the Party’s Over”.
Also, our choir merch is out now. Make sure your student buys their choir t-shirt for our Pops Concert! All purchases must be made by Friday, February 7! Click here to access our online store.
January has been a busy and rewarding month, and we’re so happy to be back in the swing of things. Stay tuned for more updates, behind-the-scenes looks, and performance previews as the semester continues!
Until next time!
Mr. Muro
