In the Schaumburg High School Choirs, our mission is to inspire and empower students through music. We strive to cultivate a supportive and inclusive community where every student can explore and develop their vocal talents, artistic expression, and musical literacy. Which choir do I sign up for freshman year?

If you are a treble voice you should sign up for C13501-1 Chorus 1. If you are a tenor or bass voice you should sign up for C13601-1 Chorus 1.
Do I have to audition to be in choir?

There are no auditions to be in choir. You also don't need any prior choir experience to join! You will learn everything you need to know from our class.
I do not plan on pursuing music as a career. Should I continue choir?

Yes continue doing choir. It's a good way to keep music in your life! It's a great way to create a deeper appreciation and understanding of the arts and their role in our society.
Can I participate in choir as well as other activities/athletics?

Yes! Because most of our rehearsals happen during the school day, it's very possible to do choir and after school activities/athletics.
Does choir look good on college applications?

Yes, choir looks great on college applications! It highlights commitment, teamwork, creativity, and leadership while showing you're a well-rounded student actively involved in extracurriculars.
Are there travel opportunities?

Yes! Our choir aims to travel every other year. We also do educational field trips throughout Illinois every year.
Is choir just a class?

Choir is not just a class. It's a co-curricular course in which you will be doing several performances throughout the semester. Aside from it being a course, it's also a great community to be a part of!
